The New Tire Mini Tour 2011 AND a new video

In honor of my new tires, this weekend I'll be heading to my old stomping grounds in upstate New York. First a couple solo sets; starting in Rochester at Boulder Coffee on June 16th, then in Cortland where I'll be opening up for good friends Digger Jones at The Stone Lounge on June 17th.

THEN this Saturday, June 18th, I'll be having the good fortune of playing with my band Hobson's Choice at my favorite venue (The Chapterhouse) in my favorite town (Ithaca)!!! What good fortune. Opening the show will be the new powerhouse duo, Sunday Vipers featuring Steve Gollnick and Billy Cote.

AND

Here's a new video of a solo rendition of my tune "I Can't Hear" from the American Folk Art Museum a few months back.

It's mostly a solo affair, though my dear friend Helen Gassenheimer sings some haunting harmonies on an unreleased song of mine, 'Moving Away,' and Chris Merkley and Steve Selin help me out on a rousing live take of 'When You're Dancing,' the title track on my soon to be released studio EP!

Happy Holidays!!

I actually came to look at the leaves.

I made it to Nashville!! So far this little fall tour of mine has been amazing. Here's a run down:

First off, I had an amazing set of my own at the Purple Fiddle in Thomas, WV with Serena Jean joining me for most of the set AND special guest appearance by the Hannah sisters. Then a beautiful drive down the mountains to Asheville, NC for a set with Serena Jean and another with Charlie Faye. What next?!?!? A fantastic night filling in on guitar with Kelley and the Cowboys at the Garage in Winston-Salem, NC, and plenty of sitting in with good friends JP Harris and the Tough Choices.

Then onto Charlotte for another set with Charlie Faye at the Double Door. Finally staying in one town for more than a few hours, we had quite a time this past Sunday at the Thirsty Beaver in Charlotte; with sets from myself, Serena Jean, Jen Duke AND Charlie Faye. And of course lots of singing together.

And now I find myself with a day off in Nashville! Will be playing tomorrow with Serena Jean at the Basement, and then I'm off to Lafayette for Blackpot; good thing I brought my dancing shoes!!

Getting Back Into It

slowly but surely...

AND my new ep, "When You're Dancing," is almost finished. I was forced to take a few steps back there, but sometimes that can be a good thing.

Check out a not quite finished mix of the title track in the music section. Sweet!

Also of note, I've got one more show at my local bar, Legion, before heading down south for a solo gig at the Purple Fiddle in West Virginia, some shows with Serena Jean in Asheville, Charleston and Nashville, and some times worth remembering at the Blackpot Festival in Lafayette!!

This is going to be fun.
